November Real Bride | Erin Thiel

We are super excited to introduce our November Real Bride, Erin and her husband Jeff Thiel! We got to see Erin quite a few times before her wedding, as she bought her bridal, maids AND flower girl gowns from us! We absolutely loved working with her each and every time she came into the store and we hope you enjoy reading all about these two's love story today!

How did the two of you meet?

"We are both involved with our local Agricultural Societies. Jeff is with the Zurich Ag. Society and I'm with the Parkhill Ag. Society. In February the O.A.A.S. holds a Convention at the Royal York in Toronto. I was sitting behind him in one of the seminars, we had to pass the little cards that were given to us when we arrived in this seminar. Jeff passed me the horse card he had and I gave him the sheep one that I had. (This was when we first saw eachother) That night we met in the Hospitality Suite. He knew the people I was with so that's how we started talking."

How'd you know your fiancé was the one?

"I've never met someone so supportive. I admire his passion, his love of family and friends. To be honest...when I saw how he handled everything after my car accident, I knew I could never find someone I'd rather spend my life with."

How did your fiancé propose? (from the brides point of view)

"We were camping, just the two of us, at Fisherman's Cove. The second day we were there it was raining. Once the rain stopped, Jeff said we should go fishing. We were catching just little fish, people would come and go from the dock. Jeff almost lost some stuff out of the tackle box when he accidentally kicked it over (knowing now what was inside - it would have been terrible!). We were out there for a while, he said "lets go regroup, maybe make some food back at the trailer" we went back to the camper, he said there was a special lure in the tackle box after we was talking about how old the box was etc. I was looking for a cool looking lure - Jeff said he thought it was in that little box. When I first saw the box my jaw dropped! I turned to Jeff and looked at him and then I opened the box and he asked if I would marry him! With a couple of teary eyes I was soo happy and replied with a yes!"

How did you propose? (from the grooms point of view)

"It was a rainy day. I was pretty nervous. We were camping - the rain let up long enough for us to go fishing. I hide the ring in the tackle box. I had planned on proposing on the dock, getting down on one knee when she caught a fish but we kept getting interrupted by other fishers. So I waited until we got back to the trailer. I asked her to look for a special lure, as she was looking I took my phone out to film her. At first she didn't noticed so I said "I think its in that little green box". When she opened it, that is when I asked her to marry me. Luckily she said yes!"

Tune in next week as we talk about Erin saying yes to her dress!

September Real Bride | Jordan + Andy

Hello September! We are excited to announce our September Real Bride Jordan Freitas and her hubby Andy. You can just see the love these two share in their gorgeous engagement pictures, we hope you enjoy reading about their love story just as much as we did!

How did the two of you meet?

"On St Patty's Day at a friends party."

How did you know Andy was the one?

"As soon as he came in my life, he changed it for the better. It was like a switch went off "so this is what love is supposed to feel like". I knew I wanted to spend all of my days with him, good or bad. We share the same values, he makes me laugh, and loves all the parts of who I am, as I do for him."

How did Andy propose? (Brides point of view)

"(Backstory) When it got to that point in our relationship to start talking about the next step and living arrangements, I had told Andy that I've always wanted be married before moving in together. I liked that old-fashioned aspect. As time went on I realized it wasn't that important to me as long as we were together, whether we were engaged or just dating. We ended up finding a home together, and a thought of a ring had completely left my mind as we were saving up for the move into our first home. We hadn't even talked about it. So it came to an absolute surprise to me that as I opened the door into my house, there was a row of rose petals leading up the stairs and into our soon to be bedroom, with "Will U Marry Me" painted on the wall, and Andy down on one knee!"

Andy, how did you propose? (Grooms point of view)

"We had just bought a house and got the keys for the first day. Jordan was working so I picked up the keys and headed over to the house. We were gonna paint the walls of some rooms so I decided to write on the bedroom wall "Will you marry me?". She came home and I had put rose pedals in the entrance leading to the bedroom where I was waiting."

Next week we'll be chatting with Jordan on how she said yes to the dress!

How did the two of you meet?

"One of my best friends helped me get my first job at the Burger King in strathroy. Eric is a little older than me so when I started he was a team leader and so was in charge of training the newbies - including me :) There's something about a man in uniform making burgers that does did it for me! Haha That was ten years ago!"

How'd you know your fiancé was the one?

"Neither of us can really pick a particular moment, we both agree that we've just always known and couldn't imagine our lives without each other."

How did your fiancé propose? (from the brides point of view)

"Last March my fiancé and I went on a trip to Ottawa to sightsee, explore and find some awesome food. I think it was on our third day we had toured the parliament building and followed it up with the most awesome pizza and beers. Afterwards we walked around downtown Ottawa for what seemed like forever, just meandering about. I could tell something was up but was so cold and my feet hurt I was too distracted to really pay attention. Eventually we made our way out to the canal and walked along the pathway in the park overlooking the canal and the buildings which looked beautiful all lite up and sparkling in the water. Then we stopped to admire the view and things got quiet between us... then like a blur Eric was down on his knee say something super romantic and about how we've experienced so much together and he couldn't imagine enjoying the rest of the journey without me (or something like that I honestly was too excited to listen and started bouncing up and down, crying and shrieking). I of course screamed YES and followed it up with a huge kiss and hugs and more jumping and shrieking! I will never forget how we felt afterwards though, we both felt so dazed, like we walking on clouds and couldn't stop smiling. It was perfect and so us."

How did you propose? (from the grooms point of view)

"I took Kayla out to an incredibly icy, precarious park - something that I thought would be romantic and I proposed! (He is a man of few, hilarious, sweet words - lol)"
